The Super C Electric Fan Chimney Cowl’s main purpose is to create the correct draught in a chimney where there is a lack of draught or where the draught is inadequate. The electric chimney cowl will increase the draw in the chimney.
The Super C Electric Fan Cowl will also solve the most severe of downdraught, ventilate (constantly if necessary)chimney flues serving any stove, insert or range, by expelling fumes, stale air and exhausts into the atmosphere.
This electrical chimney cowl can be used to vent fireplaces, solid fuel stoves / inserts / ranges, oil / gas boilers, kitchen hoods and various other heat producing appliances.

The Super C Electric Fan Chimney Cowl incorporates a 230volt economical yet durable motor that is shielded from the heat and exhaust fumes.
This electric chimney cowl will suit flue sizes ranging from 3 inches in diameter (80mm) to 9 inches in diameter (230mm) – an electric chimney cowl adapter may be needed. See chimney cowl accessories.
If this electric chimney cowl is used to increase the draught in an open fireplace, the fireplace opening dimensions cannot exceed 25 inches (635mm) wide and 25 inches (635mm) high and the fireplace’s standard flue gather cannot be situated more than 4 inches or 100mm above the fireback.
For larger openings, up to 30 inches (760mm) wide by 30 inches (760mm) high a Super R Electric Fan Chimney Cowl should be used – if your fireplace is larger than these dimensions you should not purchase either the Super C Electric Fan Chimney Cowl nor the Super R Electric Fan Chimney Cowl and instead discuss the matter with us. With a diameter of 13 ¼ inches (336mm) and a height of 9 ¾ inches (247mm), when installed on a chimney, the Super C Electric Fan Chimney Cowl is small, neat & scarcely visible from the ground.

Warning:
The Super C Electric Fan Chimney Cowl should not be fitted on a chimney that is less than 18 feet (5.5m) in length when burning solid fuels – if the product is fitted on a chimney that is shorter than 18 feet or 5.5m its lifespan may be shortened and unfortunately, we cannot cover the guarantee.
It is important not to burn fuels that have a moisture content greater than 20 percent as eventually the vapour and moisture mixed with soot particles will damage the motor, its lifespan will be shortened and unfortunately, we cannot cover the guarantee. In addition, the Super C Electric Chimney Cowl should not be used with fuels that have a high sulphur content or anthracite coal.
It should not be fitted to an unlined chimney shaft as it will not create enough suction to overcome the lack of draught.
How to Install the Super C Electric Fan Chimney Cowl
The Super C Electric Fan Chimney Cowl can be fitted to a solid construction chimney or a prefabricated chimney (an adapter is needed and these can be viewed by looking at our website section titled Chimney Cowl Accessories.
If installing onto a solid concrete or brick constructed chimney, the top chimney pot needs to be removed so that the chimney pot does not protrude above the chimney capping.
The electric chimney cowl is placed over opening.
Three holes are marked, drilled and plugged.
A cushion ring of silicone is placed around the base of the electric chimney cowl – this is to prevent any contact with the chimney stack and to ensure suction is from the chimney.
The electric chimney cowl is again placed over opening and is screwed down lightly.
The electric chimney cowl should now be connected to the main electricity supply.
